Job summary

Household in Auckland is seeking an experienced caregiver to look after a 11-month-old girl and a 3-year-old boy. The role is based in Orakei with after-school hours, starting 21st Sept and increasing to five days a week from Feb 2027.

You will collect the children from daycare, supervise meals, and help with basic housekeeping and playtime. Candidates must have own car, full license, current first aid, and be legally able to work and drive in NZ.

Qualifications

• Very experienced with young children and able to manage tantrums and sibling disputes.
• Organized, practical, reliable and active.
• Current first aid certificate.
• Legally able to work and drive in NZ.

Responsibilities

• Collect both children from daycare (Auckland city hospital) and bring them home to Orakei.
• Prepare and supervise safe afternoon tea.
• Assist with simple dinner prep.
• Attend to children's hygiene tasks (nappies, toileting).
• Play time and outings to local park/playground.

About us

We are a busy family of 4 looking for an experienced individual who is confident with looking after young children - 11 month old girl and 3 year old boy. They are both active, curious children who enjoy time outdoors.

Hours and role

• mondays, tuesdays, and Fridays 330-530pm
• likely increase to monday-friday from February 2027
• additional evening and weekend work available ad hoc

Key responsibilities

• collect both children from daycare at auckland city hospital to bring home to orakei
• must have own car and full, clean drivers license, carseats and mirrors will be provided
• preparing and supervising safe consumption of afternoon tea
• assisting with simple dinner prep
• children's hygiene tasks (changing nappies/supporting toileting)
• play time and going to the local park/playground

What we're looking for

• very experienced with young children - able to manage tantrums and sibling disputes
• organized, practical, reliable, active
• warm, patient and confident managing 2 children
• confident driver with a full license
• current first aid certificate
• legally able to work and drive in NZ
• references will be required

Pay and commencement

• $30/hour
• petrol reimbursed as per mileage
• ideally start 21st sept, definitely need to have started by 28th September
