Job summary

Beca in New Zealand is seeking an experienced professional for an Expression of Interest in Aviation Training Systems. Based at RNZAF Ohakea in Manawatu, the role offers hands-on maintenance of electrical and mechanical plant, plus development and delivery of technical or aircrew training.

You will work with clients, meet safety and contractual KPIs, and be eligible for security clearance. A background in military or training sectors is a plus; evenings shifts may be required to satisfy client

Expression of Interest – Aviation Training Systems

Beca Applied Technologies are engaged across multiple market segments primarily defence and national security, but also across aviation, information security, software, and transportation.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

This role is based at RNZAF Ohakea in Manawatu and offers a great opportunity for someone interested in systems engineering, training systems and some hands‑on work maintaining electrical and mechanical plant. A strong focus on health and safety is essential, along with the ability to work well in a client-facing role and deliver results in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain an NZDF Defence Site Clearance or National Security Clearance and be willing to work occasional evening shifts to meet client requirements. We’re looking for someone who is process-oriented, understands contractual obligations and KPIs, and ideally has some experience or interest in aviation. A background in the military or training sectors, would be a plus.

To be considered for this role, you must be eligible to obtain security clearance. This requires New Zealand citizenship or a verified Resident Class Visa, and continuous residence in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, or the United States for the past five years.
