Job summary

HealthCare NZ is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to join its in-home and community-based care team in Paeroa. You will support clients with daily living, meal prep, personal care, and social activities.

Ideal candidates have a positive attitude, good communication, and may have healthcare qualifications or NZ driver’s licence. Police vetting and right to work in NZ are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

As a Support Worker, you’ll help clients achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives through practical and emotional support. Tasks may include:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Medication support
• Personal care (showering, toileting, etc.)
• Bowel cares,Manual handling, and hoist transfers
• Home management tasks

What We’re Looking For:

• A positive attitude and a genuine desire to help others
• Previous healthcare or caregiving experience (preferred but not essential)
• Great communication skills and flexibility to work alternate weekends
• Healthcare qualifications (advantageous)
• Full NZ driver’s licence and reliable transport (most roles)
