Job summary

Trade Assist is seeking experienced painters for projects across Christchurch and the South Island. Immediate starts and long-term opportunities available, with weekly pay and varied sites.

We welcome subcontractors and offer ongoing work with reputable clients. Applicants should have at least 2 years of painting experience, strong prep and finishing skills, and own tools and transport.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years painting experience.
• Experienced brush hands, skilled painters and qualified painters welcome.
• Strong preparation, cutting-in, rolling and finishing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Own reliable vehicle and transport.
• Own basic painting tools.
• Good physical fitness and stamina; able to work on feet, ladders and access equipment.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Clean Ministry of Justice check.
• Must have legal right to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Carry out painting and decorating tasks on-site.
• Prepare surfaces, apply paint and finish with touch-ups.
• Work with clients and team across Christchurch and South Island.
