Job summary

Doggone Attitude in Auckland is seeking an experienced Dog Handler to join our team. You will lead safe, structured group walks and supervise dogs in our customised transport setup.

We value calm, reliable handlers who understand canine body language, can manage dogs of all sizes, and follow safety procedures. A full, clean driver's licence is essential, and you will work Tue-Fri, 30 hours weekly.

This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about dogs, understands canine behaviour, and enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions. We specialise in structured group walks that focus on calm, balanced dogs and continued training throughout every outing.

What You'll Be Doing

• Safely collecting and transporting dogs in our professionally customised, crated vans.
• Managing structured group walks.
• Reinforcing calm behaviour, engagement, and good lead manners.
• Monitoring each dog's wellbeing and behaviour throughout the day.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.
• Communicating effectively with clients and the team.

What We're Looking For

• Previous professional dog walking experience is essential.
• Confident handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
• Excellent understanding of canine body language and behaviour.
• Calm, reliable, and physically fit.
• Full, clean driver's licence.
• Able to work independently while following established systems and safety protocols.
• Punctual, trustworthy, and committed to providing exceptional care.
