The Doggery is a unique veterinary nursing facility dedicated to the care of dogs with higher level medical conditions requiring monitoring and post-surgicalrecovery involving rehabilitation. We also specialise in caring for dogs with anxiety / behaviour issues and also our senior guests.
About the role:
We care for a wide range of dogs, that require a higher level of care, so therefore they do not have acess to general day-care and boarding facilities. We work closely with the specialist veterinary providers.
We also operate a day-care service and for our furry clients. A core part of your role will be organising and delivering the day care and resident guests . This includes pick-ups and drop - offs at the dog’s homes for that personal service touch.
There is also bookings and diary management and ensuring client paperwork kept upto date.
This is an all – weather, 7 day a week rostered job for 40 hours per week between the hours of 6 am and 8 pm, depending on bookings and demand. From time to time you may be required to sleepover nights to care for the resident boarding guests.
We are open 365 days a year, so you will be rostered across weekends, public holidays & school holidays. We need you to have flexibility to work with existing staff to insure equitable rostered time off.
We value our staff and encourage learning & development in our dedicated staff to learn new skills to assist with the care of our valuable dog guests.
About you:
Must be physically fit and able to walk (sometimes fast!) over rough ground and manage large dogs.
You will be working outside in all weather on a farm, beach and forests, so if you love the outdoors and being with dogs, this could be a great role for the right person seeking a challenge with a difference.
This is not a position for someone new to K9 behaviour and management, you will be required to have at least 2 years work experience with dogs and a recognised qualification in canine or animal behaviour or Veterinary nursing.

Usual duties are outlined in a job description available - including exercising, feeding, medicating, bathing and animal husbandry & care.
You will be driving the company vehicles, so you must have a full, clean drivers licence and be a confident and very careful driver.A good knowledge of Auckland would be great too!
