Job summary

Newsom Dental Group in Tauranga is seeking an Experienced Dental Assistant to join our growing team. This four-day-per-week role (Mon-Thu, Fridays off) offers modern facilities and a supportive team.

You will support the lead dentist, help maintain smooth operations, and deliver excellent patient care. The successful candidate will have chairside skills, knowledge of dental procedures, and a certificate in dental assisting is preferred; experience with Exact Practice Management software and

• Excellent chairside skills and a professional manner.
• Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology and instruments.
• Experience with Exact Practice Management software or similar.
• Current competency in infection control and sterilisation procedures.
• Sedation monitoring qualification preferred, but training will be provided.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist during clinical procedures with chairside support and instrument handling.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise instruments per infection control protocols.
• Take and process dental radiographs safely and accurately.
• Assist with implant dentistry and complex bridge and crown work.

We are seeking a Experienced Dental Assistant to join our growing team in Tauranga. This position is four days per week (Monday - Thursday, with Fridays off). This position offers a great opportunity to work in a modern dental practice with a positive & supportive team of staff and clinicians. You will play a vital role in supporting our lead dentist, ensuring smooth operations, and delivering excellent patient care.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting during clinical procedures, including chairside support & instrument handling
• Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising instruments according to infection control protocols
• Taking and processing dental radiographs safely and accurately
• Assisting with implant dentistry and complex bridge and crown work.

What we're looking for

• Excellent chairside skills and a positive, professional manner
• Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology and instruments. (A Certificate in Dental Assisting is preferred).
• Experience with Exact Practice Management software or similar
• Current competency in infection control and sterilisation procedures
• Sedation monitoring qualification preferable, but training will be provided.

• Physical capability to perform chairside support duties
