Job summary

AUT invites applications for an Executive Dean to lead the newly merged Faculty of Society and Business. Based at City Campus, Auckland, this five-year fixed-term appointment will shape the faculty’s strategic direction, elevate teaching, research and partnerships, and drive interdisciplinary collaboration across business, law, social sciences and humanities.

You will report to the Vice-Chancellor, lead eight direct reports, manage a substantial operating budget, and advance AUT’s Te Tiriti

Qualifications

• An accomplished senior leader with expertise relevant to the faculty's disciplines, and a proven ability to deliver strategic, academic and organisational outcomes in complex environments.
• Significant people leadership experience at scale, inspiring and aligning large teams and delivering results through others.
• Suitability for appointment as Professor, with evidence of academic achievement or equivalent distinction through industry or executive leadership.
• A champion for equity, diversity and inclusion, advancing Te Tiriti commitments and equitable outcomes.
• Experience leading strategic change and transformation, building consensus and embedding sustainable organisational change.
• Proven success advancing research excellence, impact and external partnerships.
• Experience fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation across disciplines.
• Strong strategic, commercial and financial acumen with capability to build partnerships that deliver impact.
