Job summary

The Treasury is seeking a Deputy Secretary, Enabling Services and Chief Operating Officer in Wellington. This executive role leads enabling services, shapes strategic policy debates, and drives system-wide transformation across the public sector.

You will partner with Ministers, the private sector, and communities to deliver better government outcomes, build high-performing teams, and foster a culture of continuous improvement in governance, technology and workplaces.

Qualifications

• This is a senior public service role requiring experience delivering complex policy and system change.
• Proven ability to engage with senior officials, Ministers, and external partners.
• Strong strategic, economic, and financial acumen within the public sector.
