Job summary

Turbo Staff Ltd is seeking skilled Excavator Operators to expertly handle heavy machinery for excavation, material movement and spreading with a focus on precision and safety.

Roles require at least 3 years of relevant experience and can involve travel with accommodation provided when needed. On-site work is expected across multiple NZ regions, with 30 guaranteed hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.
• Ability to perform pre-operation checks and operate excavators safely.
• Experience with attaching/detaching various attachments and adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavator with precision to excavate, move, and spread materials.
• Conduct pre-operation checks and position machinery accurately.
• Select, fit and remove attachments as tasks require.
• Monitor machine operation to maintain safe, efficient on-site work.
• Follow plans and instructions to meet project requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, cleaning and refuelling.
• Transport and position heavy machinery according to site safety rules.
• Evaluate task needs and ensure attachments are correctly fitted.

Join Our Team as an Excavator Operator! We're in search of skilled Excavator Operators who can expertly handle heavy machinery to excavate, move, and spread materials efficiently. If you have a passion for precision operation, a knack for teamwork and are looking for 30 guaranteed hours, this is the role for you!

Skill Requirements:

· Equipment Readiness: Ensure that the plant machinery is in optimal operational condition by conducting pre-operation checks and precise positioning.

· Attachment Management: Skilfully select, fit, and remove various attachments, such as buckets, winches, loading scoops, shovel blades, and rock-breaking hammers, tailored to specific tasks.

· Precision Operation: Utilize machine controls with finesse to execute excavation, material movement, and spreading tasks with accuracy.

· Vigilant Monitoring: Maintain a watchful eye on plant operation, making real-time control adjustments to uphold ideal pressure, speed, and safety standards for all on-site workers.

· Task Execution: Follow plans, drawings, markers, and verbal instructions to ensure tasks align with project requirements and objectives.

· Maintenance Dedication: Conduct routine equipment servicing, lubrication, cleaning, and refuelling as part of a comprehensive maintenance regimen, addressing minor adjustments and repairs when necessary.

· Machinery Transportation: Safely transport and position heavy machinery according to site-specific safety protocols and guidelines.

· Attachment Assessment: Efficiently evaluate task requirements, determining suitable attachments and ensuring they are correctly fitted for optimal functionality.

· Manual and Hydraulic Mastery: Skilfully manipulate attachments using manual and hydraulic controls, making necessary adjustments during operations.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.

When workers are required to travel, appropriate travel and accommodation expenses will be provided.
