Job summary

Franklin Smith Limited is seeking multiple experienced Excavator Operators to join our civil construction teams. You will operate excavators on diverse earthmoving tasks, work to precise specifications, and maintain safety and efficiency on site across New Zealand projects.

Successful candidates will have at least 3 years of relevant full-time experience, NZ citizenship or residency, and be able to pass police checks and drug tests.

Qualifications

• NZ citizen or resident with at least 3 years of full-time excavator operator experience on commercial or civil projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position plant for operation.
• Select and fit attachments such as buckets and hammers.
• Operate controls to excavate, break, level, move, and load earth and rocks.
• Monitor plant operation and adjust controls for safe performance.
• Relocate attachments using hydraulic controls.
• Work from drawings and verbal instructions.
• Service, lubricate, and refuel plant; perform minor repairs.
• May operate other civil equipment and perform manual labouring.
