Job summary

BETTERMAN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT LIMITED in Auckland, New Zealand, is seeking an experienced excavator operator to support drainage and construction projects. You will read site plans, set up machinery, and perform safe, efficient earthworks to prepare areas for drainage installations.

Responsibilities include excavating, loading and transporting materials, monitoring equipment, and adhering to health and safety rules. NZ citizen or resident required; weekends may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience or a Level 4+ qualification.
• Physically fit and healthy.
• Full-time availability; weekends may be required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect excavators, attachments and equipment to ensure proper function and readiness.
• Read and interpret site plans, drawings, specifications and blueprints for drainage projects.
• Operate excavators safely to prepare areas and install drainage structures.
• Excavate, drill, backfill, level, compact, move, load, and transport materials.
• Monitor equipment, adjust controls for efficiency and safety.
• Follow instructions to maintain high-quality workmanship.
• Report equipment issues and perform minor repairs.
• Assist co-workers with drainage tasks to complete projects safely.

BETTERMAN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT LIMITED – Auckland, North Island

Task

• Inspect excavators, attachments and equipment to ensure that they are functioning properly and performing as intended, ensuring they are set up and ready for use
• Read and interpret site plans, drawings, specifications and blueprints for our construction and drainage projects
• Operate excavators proficiently and safely to prepare areas for and complete the installation of drainage structures and other drainage and related works
• Utilise excavators and attachments to excavate, drill, break, backfill, level, compact, move, lift, load, and transport materials (such as drainage materials, earth , rubble and rock)
• Monitor equipment operations, adjusting controls as needed for optimal efficiency and ensuring safety
• Operate equipment manually and through electronic or digital interfaces
• F ollow verbal and written instructions meticulously to maintain high-quality work standards
• Report any issues or problems related to the equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of equipment, conducting minor adjustments and repairs as necessary
• Assist co-workers with drainage and other related tasks to ensure our construction and drainage projects are completed safely and efficiently
• Ensure workmanship and observe health and safety regulations

Pay rate: Minimum $ 32.00 / hour Maximum $ 36.00 / hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 3 0 hours , permanent full-time

Requirements for the job:

• You should have at least 3 years of relevant work experience; O r , if no experience, you should have a relevant qualification at level 4 or above
• Be physically fit and healthy
• Full time availability, may work on the weekends
• No criminal record
