Job summary

Futurer civil infrastructure in Auckland is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our growing team. You will dig, break, move and load earth, rock and debris for residential and commercial projects, reading plans and preparing machines with the right attachments.

This role offers challenging site work in the Auckland region, with a pay rate of NZ$27–35 per hour and hours between 30 and 60 per week.

Qualifications

• At least three years relevant prior experience or a formal qualification.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Clean criminal record and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavation and earthmoving machines to dig, break, move and load earth, rock and debris for foundations and civil projects.
• Read detailed construction/civil plans and position machines for operation.
• Prepare machines by selecting, fitting and installing attachments.
• Control machines to cut, excavate, and level ground per plans.
• Conduct routine checks and maintenance on machines to ensure safety.

• Pay rate: from $27-$35 per hour
• Hours per week: Min 30 and max 60 hrs

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Operate excavation and other earth moving machines to dig, break, move and load earth,rock, and debris. Complete foundation excavations for construction projects and civil excavation for civil projects.
• Operate earth moving machines and complete large scale and precision
• Prepare machines by selecting, fitting, and installing right attachments
• Read detailed construction/civil plans and position machines for operation
• Operate and control the machines to cut, excavate, break, drill, level, compact, and gouge out the ground
• Operate machines to fill, move, load and spread earth, rock, rubble, soil and other materials
• Manipulate attachments using manual, electronic or hydraulic controls
• Perform routine checks on machines and adjust controls to regulate the operation, and ensure safety of other workers
• Conduct preventative maintenance on machines when required
• Follow verbal and drawing instructions to ensure work performance
• Clean, lubricate, refuel, adjust and repair machines when required
