Job summary

Without Waste is seeking hands-on event crew in Queenstown for large-scale public events. The role involves setting up waste stations, moving bins, sorting waste streams and litter picking. You’ll work outdoors in varying weather, on your feet for long periods, and support the Event Waste Manager as part of a wider crew.

Ideal candidates are comfortable with physical work, reliable and a team player. Weekend, early morning or evening shifts may be required; a full driver license is preferred but

Responsibilities

• Setting up bins, waste stations and equipment before events
• Moving, emptying and managing bins throughout the event
• Sorting waste into recycling, organics and general waste streams
• Litter picking and keeping event sites clean and tidy
• Processing and moving recyclable and reusable materials
• Helping event attendees use waste stations correctly
• Supporting the Event Waste Manager and wider crew as required
• Assisting with pack-down and site clean-up after events
• Following all health and safety procedures

Join the Without Waste event crew. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role, and you'll be paid well. You'll be on your feet for long periods, moving bins and waste, sorting materials, litter picking and helping with event pack-in and pack-out. It can be dirty work, the days can be long, and events go ahead in all kinds of weather.

Key responsibilities

• Setting up bins, waste stations and equipment before events

• Helping event attendees use waste stations correctly

About you

• Comfortable with physical work and being on your feet for long shifts
• Happy working outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Comfortable handling waste and getting your hands dirty
• Reliable, punctual and ready to work when you say you will
• A good team player with a positive attitude
• Able to follow instructions and work safely in a busy event environment
• Available for weekend, early morning and/or evening event shifts when required
• Queenstown based
• A full driver licence is preferred but not essential
• Ideally, previous experience in physically demanding work, such as labouring, trades, construction, warehousing, factory work, landscaping, cleaning, event operations or similar
