Job summary

Real seeks a motivated youth worker to join our Pathways service in New Plymouth. You will work under the Team Coach, supporting young people in a home-like retreat, providing mentoring, supervision, and care during extended stays.

Ideal candidates hold the Level 4 Mental Health & Addiction or Youth Work certificates, with trauma-informed knowledge and a current NZ driver’s licence. This is a fixed-term, full-time position ending January 2027, with weekday hours 3pm–11:30pm.

Qualifications

• Trauma-informed care approach when engaging with young people.
• IT literacy to maintain records and communicate with the team.
• Full NZ driver’s licence is required.
• Experience in youth work, social work, mental health, or addiction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Team Coach and work with a team of Youth Workers.
• Support young people staying in a home-like retreat for short periods.
• Contribute to the wellbeing, safety and development of participants.
