Etrucks is looking for an experienced EV Truck Technician / Auto Electrician to join our team working with the latest generation of fully electric trucks and heavy machinery.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced heavy-vehicle technician who wants to develop their skills in the rapidly growing electric vehicle industry.
You will be responsible for the diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and warranty support of imported electric trucks and machinery, as well as supporting our technicians and customers throughout New Zealand.
About the role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults on electric trucks and machinery
- Carrying out warranty, servicing and maintenance work
- Pre-delivery inspection, preparation and commissioning of new vehicles and machinery
- Devanning and preparing newly imported machines for delivery
- Providing technical support to local technicians around New Zealand
- Travelling throughout New Zealand from time to time to assist with technical issues and customer support
- Occasional travel to Australia may also be required
- Using computer-based diagnostic and vehicle management systems
- Working closely with the Etrucks team to identify and resolve technical issues
About you
We are looking for someone who has:
- Strong experience in auto electrical work on heavy vehicles or machinery
- A background in auto electrical, heavy electrical or heavy-vehicle mechanical service
- Excellent fault-finding, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Good computer and technical diagnostic skills
- The ability to work independently and prioritise competing tasks
- A practical, hands-on approach and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a small, growing team
- A willingness to learn and develop your knowledge of electric vehicle technology
- The flexibility to undertake occasional travel within New Zealand and to Australia
- An HT licence is preferred.
- Fluency in Mandarin is an advantage, but not essential.
- Applicants must currently have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
- Applicants who do not currently have the right to work in New Zealand will not be considered for this position.
- The successful applicant will also need to be able to undertake occasional domestic and international travel.
