Job summary

Etrucks Limited, based in East Tamaki, North Island, seeks an experienced EV Truck Technician / Auto Electrician to diagnose, service and maintain electric trucks and heavy machinery across New Zealand. You will support technicians and customers with warranty work and onsite diagnostics.

You will travel nationally, occasionally to Australia, using diagnostic systems and collaborating with the team to resolve technical issues and deploy new electric heavy-vehicle technology.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in auto electrical work on heavy vehicles or machinery.
  • Background in auto electrical, heavy electrical or heavy-vehicle mechanical service.
  • Excellent fault-finding, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Good computer and technical diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise competing tasks.
  • Hands-on approach and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small, growing team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of electric vehicle technology.
  • Flexibility to travel within New Zealand and to Australia occasionally.
  • HT licence is preferred.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Applicants must currently have the legal right to work in New Zealand.

  • This role involves working with new electric heavy-vehicle technology and contributing to cleaner, more efficient heavy transport in New Zealand.

  • Carrying out warranty, servicing and maintenance work.
  • Pre-delivery inspection, preparation and commissioning of new vehicles and machinery.
  • Devanning and preparing newly imported machines for delivery.
  • Providing technical support to local technicians around New Zealand.
  • Travelling within New Zealand to assist with technical issues and customer support.
  • Occasional travel to Australia may be required.
  • Using computer-based diagnostic and vehicle management systems.
  • Working closely with the Etrucks team to identify and resolve technical issues.

Etrucks is looking for an experienced EV Truck Technician / Auto Electrician to join our team working with the latest generation of fully electric trucks and heavy machinery.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced heavy-vehicle technician who wants to develop their skills in the rapidly growing electric vehicle industry.

You will be responsible for the diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and warranty support of imported electric trucks and machinery, as well as supporting our technicians and customers throughout New Zealand.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • The successful applicant will also need to be able to undertake occasional domestic and international travel.
