Job summary

Stellar Recruitment is partnering with a well-established civil contractor with a strong footprint across South Auckland and North Waikato. We seek an experienced Civil Estimator to own the estimating function, price projects, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to deliver polished tender packages.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar.
• Proven experience delivering civil projects in estimating.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing tenders from initial review through to final submission
• Pricing projects independently and compiling completed tender packages to a high standard
• Coordinating subcontractor and supplier pricing packages
• Preparing accurate estimates across drainage and civil works
• Supporting bid strategy development and post-tender reviews
• Working closely with business leadership on the commercial side of the tendering process

About the Role

Known for delivering quality horizontal infrastructure projects across drainage, earthworks, and civil construction, they've built a solid reputation through consistent delivery and a hands-on, no-fuss approach.

Due to continued growth and a healthy tendering pipeline, an opportunity now exists for an experienced Civil Estimator to join the team and take full ownership of the estimating side of the business.

You'll be involved in:

• Managing tenders from initial review through to final submission
• Pricing projects independently and compiling completed tender packages to a high standard
• Coordinating subcontractor and supplier pricing packages
• Preparing accurate estimates across drainage and civil works
• Supporting bid strategy development and post-tender reviews
• Working closely with business leadership on the commercial side of the tendering process

What You'll Bring

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar
• Proven experience delivering civil projects in an estimating capacity
• Confident pricing work independently with a strong understanding of how projects are actually delivered on the ground
• Ability to produce polished, client-ready tender submissions without requiring substantial review
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable dealing directly with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
