Job summary

ConsultANZ in Auckland is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead estimating for major civil infrastructure tenders from start to finish. You will develop bid strategies, manage and mentor the estimating team, and collaborate with suppliers to ensure accurate, competitive pricing and successful bids.

The role requires extensive NZ market experience, a civil engineering degree, and a strong track record of high-value project estimates.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of estimating experience in civil infrastructure.
• At least 10+ years working in the New Zealand construction market.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a senior or lead estimator on major projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating work for major civil infrastructure tenders from start to finish.
• Prepare and check cost estimates to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
• Manage and support the estimating team.
• Work with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather pricing and build estimates.

• Review contract terms, risks, and tender requirements.

ConsultANZ is looking for an experienced Estimating Manager to join a leading civil contractor in Auckland. This is a senior role where you will lead estimating work for large civil projects, making sure all cost estimates are accurate, competitive, and commercially strong. You will also help set bid strategies and support key decisions during the tender stage.

Main Duties:

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 15+ years of estimating experience in civil infrastructure.
• At least 10+ years working in the New Zealand construction market.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a senior or lead estimator on major projects.
• Strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Expert proficiency in Candy estimating software.
• Strong commercial sense and understanding of pricing, contracts, and risk.
