Job summary

Ellerslie School is seeking an experienced and culturally responsive ESOL teacher to support our English Language Learners across the school. The role focuses on developing language skills in small groups and individuals, in collaboration with classroom teachers.

The successful applicant will maintain ESOL records, assessments and funding documentation, while upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments and fostering strong relationships with students, whānau and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience or qualifications in ESOL teaching are essential.
• Knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and ELLP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support small groups and individuals to develop English language skills.
• Collaborate with class teachers to plan and deliver effective language learning programmes.
• Maintain accurate ESOL records, assessments, and funding documentation.
• Demonstrate a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally sustaining practice.
• Build strong relationships with students, whānau and colleagues.
