Job summary

The Toi Moana Bay of Plenty Regional Council is seeking an Environmental Engineer based in Tauranga to deliver engineering advice and support for flood and erosion risk management. You will work within a professional team focused on healthy environments and resilient communities, with opportunities for specialist projects.

You will undertake hydrologic and hydraulic investigations, produce reports and tender documents, and assist with flood forecasting and response activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Engineering with hydrology and hydraulics experience.
• Diploma in Environmental Engineering with 10+ years of relevant work accepted.
• Experience with river, canal and floodplain management is preferred.
• MS Office and ArcGIS proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering advice on flood and erosion risk management.
• Support resource consent processing and provide compliance advice.
• Undertake hydrologic and hydraulic investigations and design.
• Prepare reports, tender documentation and supervise projects.
• Support flood forecasting and flood response activities.
