Job summary

Otago Regional Council is seeking a Manager Environmental Delivery Data and Systems to lead the Regulatory Data and Systems function. You will guide a high-performing team, drive data quality, and implement system improvements to support informed regulatory decisions across Otago.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Science, Information, or related field.
• Significant experience managing data and databases.
• Significant leadership experience developing and supporting teams.
• Experience in local government.
• Experience leading process improvement, quality assurance or systems enhancement initiatives.
• Experience collecting and analysing environmental data.
• Strong communication, reporting, and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and encourage the development of the Regulatory Data and Systems team, fostering a collaborative culture.
• Ensure the quality, integrity, and effective management of environmental and regulatory data.
• Provide expert advice and insight to support organisational planning, decision making, and regulatory activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
• Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives across the environmental delivery function.
• Ensure resource consent monitoring reflects consent conditions and organisational priorities.
