Job summary

Otago Regional Council (ORC) seeks a strategic Manager Environmental Delivery Data and Systems to lead the Regulatory Data and Systems function in Otago. You will drive data quality, build agile processes, and partner with stakeholders to support environmental monitoring and regulatory activities.

This role leads a team, directs budgeting and continuous improvement, and shapes how environmental data informs decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's qualification in Environmental Management, Science, Information science or related field with SQL reporting services.
• Significant experience managing data and databases.
• Significant leadership experience developing and supporting teams.
• Experience in local government.
• Experience leading process improvement, quality assurance or systems enhancement initiatives.
• Experience collecting and analysing environmental data.

Responsibilities

• Lead and encourage the development of the Regulatory Data and Systems team, fostering a collaborative culture.
• Ensure the quality, integrity, and effective management of environmental and regulatory data.
• Provide expert advice and insight to support organisational planning, decision making, and regulatory activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
• Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives across the environmental delivery function.
• Ensure resource consent monitoring reflects consent conditions and organisational priorities.
