Job summary

TOMRA Food in New Zealand is offering a Junior Electrical Design & Automation Engineer role for a graduate or early-career engineer. You will support the electrical design of TOMRA's sorting and automation solutions, building a solid foundation in electrical design, control systems, and project delivery while gaining exposure to automation and commissioning.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you will participate in design reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and customer installations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Exposure to electrical design, automation, controls, or engineering projects through university, internships, personal projects, or work experience.

Responsibilities

Support the design and documentation of electrical systems and project documentation.
Assist with selection and integration of electrical components, sensors, motors, and control equipment.
Gain exposure to automation and control systems through testing, troubleshooting, and configuration.
Help create and maintain engineering templates, tools, and documentation for efficient project delivery.
Support project engineers from design through testing, commissioning, and handover.
Participate in system setup, customer installations, testing, and troubleshooting across the project lifecycle.
