Job summary

Liquigas is seeking a senior project manager and engineering leader to take capital projects from concept through commissioning, while guiding a small engineering team. The role reports to the Head of Operations and Engineering and involves close collaboration with operations, maintenance and external partners.

You will lead project delivery, manage budgets and implement Management of Change across assets, ensuring safety, quality and schedule targets.

The opportunity

This is a newly created role bringing project management and engineering leadership together in one seat. You will take Liquigas' capital projects from concept through to commissioning and provide technical leadership to a small engineering team, keeping the assets safe, reliable and efficient. It reports to the Head of Operations and Engineering and sits close to the decisions that shape the business.

The weight of the role sits in project delivery. You will have two experienced technical engineers reporting to you, so people management is light, particularly early on, and the day-to-day is about getting projects done well.

What you'll be responsible for

What we're looking for

A strong project manager with an engineering background, ideally from a process, manufacturing, energy, utilities or heavy industrial setting. Experience in a high hazard environment is valuable.

• A track record delivering capital or brownfield projects from concept to commissioning, including business cases, budgets and plans
• Experience managing contractors, consultants and suppliers
• A strong grasp of Management of Change, engineering risk management and engineering assurance
• The ability to provide technical leadership and work across operations, maintenance and external partners

A degree in engineering or a related technical discipline is required, along with the right to work in New Zealand.
