Job summary

Partly is building the AI infrastructure layer for the global repair industry, with a global footprint including Austin, NZ, and London. In this role you will join our development team to tackle hard, exciting problems and build beautiful software powering our core SaaS and API platform.

You will work with engineers on scalable distributed systems, APIs, and data models, with opportunities to learn automotive parts. Collaboration and delivering high-quality code are highly valued at Partly.

Qualifications

• Strong CS and engineering fundamentals across data structures, concurrency, APIs, testing, and design patterns.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration.
• Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and data models.
• Experience building reliable, distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Work on mission-critical systems for core SaaS and API platform.
• Ensure features are scalable, fault-tolerant, and accurate.
• Provide a great experience for businesses using the Partly platform.
• Help develop and share software engineering best practices.

Note: Partly is headquartered in Austin, TX with offices in London, UK, Christchurch, NZ and Auckland, NZ. Wherever you're based, we'll connect you with your nearest office for onboarding, and fly you to join the full team for our quarterly "Season Openers" (we cover travel and accommodation). If you're relocating to join us, we can also assist with relocation costs.

This role

In this role, you will work alongside other members of our development team to tackle hard, exciting problems and build beautiful software.

What will you do

• You'll be working on mission-critical systems for our core SaaS and API platform.

• You will be ensuring these features are highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and accurate.

• You will be working to provide a great experience for businesses using the Partly platform.

• You will be helping to develop and share software engineering best practices with the team.

• This is an opportunity to become an expert in the extremely complex and underserved automotive parts domain.

Your skills

• 5+ years of experience developing complex applications.

• Firmly grounded in computer science and engineering fundamentals, including data structures, concurrency, architecture, APIs, testing, and design patterns.

• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.

• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and data models.

• Experience building reliable, distributed systems.

• (Bonus) Experience with automotive parts.

• (Bonus) Experience with Node.js.

• (Bonus) Experience with Rust.
