Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

Engineering Planning and Inventory Control

Are you the person who always knows what is needed before everyone else realises they need it? You know the type.

The maintenance schedule is ready. The right people are available. The parts are sitting on the shelf. The contractor has been booked. The work order actually contains useful information. And when planned maintenance begins, nobody is running around asking, “Where is that bearing?”

If that sounds like your kind of engineering world, we should talk.
ARYZTA is looking for a Planning & Inventory Control Engineer to bring structure, foresight and technical know how to our Glenfield manufacturing site.
This is not a role for someone who simply updates spreadsheets and sends reminders. You will be right in the middle of the engineering action, making sure the team has the plans, parts, tools and resources needed to keep a busy food manufacturing plant moving.

What is waiting for you? You will join a ten person engineering team and work closely with four maintenance team members, an Electrical Apprentice, the Reliability Engineer, CI Engineer and Facilities & Project Engineer.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager NZ, you will become the link between maintenance planning and getting the job done properly.

Your work will directly support plant reliability, smarter maintenance and less downtime. When you do your job well, the whole engineering team feels it.

Where you will make a difference

  • Plan preventative, scheduled and reactive maintenance activities across the site

  • Make sure labour, parts, materials, tools and contractors are ready before the work begins

  • Manage work orders and preventative maintenance plans in MEX

  • Coordinate maintenance resources, contractors and third party service providers

  • Identify critical spare parts and establish sensible stock levels

  • Keep engineering inventory accurate, organised and easy to find

  • Improve preventative maintenance instructions with clear steps, photographs and correct parts information

  • Maintain accurate equipment records across MEX and SAP

  • Work closely with operations, purchasing and engineering stakeholders

  • Support the maintenance team during breakdowns when required

  • Help build an engineering store that does not resemble a treasure hunt

  • Keep health and safety, food safety and quality at the heart of every activity

The engineering unicorn we are looking for

We need someone who understands both sides of maintenance: the practical reality on the factory floor and the planning needed behind the scenes.

You will ideally bring:

  • A New Zealand-recognised Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification

  • At least three years’ engineering experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceutical or a similar manufacturing environment

  • Experience planning preventative, scheduled and reactive maintenance

  • A strong understanding of engineering spare parts and inventory control

  • Experience using MEX CMMS or another maintenance management system

  • The ability to coordinate people, contractors, priorities and parts without losing track of the details

  • Confidence reading engineering drawings and understanding plant equipment

  • Good practical fault-finding and problem-solving skills

  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the site

  • A genuine commitment to health and safety, food safety and quality

Experience with SAP, lubrication systems, pneumatics, welding, steam systems or gear reducers would be a welcome bonus.

The practical details

  • This is an on site role based in Glenfield, Auckland.

  • You will work 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility to support the business on weekends when required.

  • The base salary is $115,000 to $118,000, plus KiwiSaver.

We would love to hear from candidates who are already living in New Zealand, ideally Auckland, and hold current working rights. However, if the right person happens to be offshore, we are open to exploring that conversation too.

Ready to bring order to engineering chaos? If you are trade qualified, technically sharp and quietly satisfied by a well-planned maintenance schedule and a beautifully organised spare parts store, this could be your role.

Additional information

  • Earn $115,000 to $118,000 plus KiwiSaver in a Monday to Friday role

  • The vital link between maintenance planning, people, parts & plant performance
