Job summary

Open Country Dairy Ltd is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead maintenance, reliability, asset management and continuous improvement at our ice cream site in East Tamaki. You will balance day-to-day maintenance demands with safety, quality and regulatory compliance while developing a high-performing engineering team and collaborating with production and site leadership.

Qualifications

• Engineering trade qualification, technical certification, or relevant engineering degree.
• Minimum 5 years’ engineering or maintenance management experience.
• Strong preventative maintenance, asset management and reliability knowledge.
• Experience in food, dairy, ice cream, FMCG or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Strong contractor, budget, compliance, communication and people leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planned, preventative and reactive maintenance to improve plant reliability and performance.
• Manage asset strategies, critical spares, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee contractors, suppliers, service agreements, engineering budgets and capital works.
• Ensure engineering activities support quality, food safety, H&S, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, coach and develop the engineering team while working closely with production, quality and site leadership.
