Pushpay is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead high-performing squads through a major product modernization initiative in Auckland. You will mentor Tech Leads, collaborate with Product and Design, and shape how thousands of customers experience our platform.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering teams in modern SaaS/cloud environments.
• Track record of shipping high-quality features and modernising systems.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and scalable tech stacks.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead & Mentor: Provide performance coaching and career development for (initially) 4 - 8 engineers across 1–3 squads.
• Drive Execution & Delivery: Work closely with Tech Leads and Product Managers to translate product strategy into seamless execution.
• Be the Tech Conversant Leader: While you don't need to be writing code, you have enough technical depth to engage in architecture discussions, ask probing questions, challenge estimates, and call out roadblocks.
• Translate Tech to Business: Act as a bridge between engineering complexity and product/business goals—communicating trade-offs and impact with ease.
• Uplift Engineering Culture: Promote modern software practices (AWS, CI/CD, AI-assisted tooling) and act as an enabler for your teams by clearing friction and bottlenecks.
