Job summary

Meridian Energy Limited is building its next asset management capability. As Engineering Lead, you will help design the system that guides how Meridian invests in its assets for decades to come.

You will start by building the team and roadmap, then influence both journey and outcomes across Engineering and Operations. You’ll challenge approaches, translate complex technical information, and apply industry practices to shape Meridian’s future.

Qualifications

  • Significant engineering experience in an operational or asset-intensive environment.
  • Ability to lead across multiple engineering disciplines and functions.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Design the asset management system that guides Meridian's long-term investments.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to shape the roadmap and outcomes.
  • Challenge existing approaches and translate complex technical information for cross-functional teams.
  • Lead engagement and alignment across teams to enable a value-driven portfolio strategy.
  • Help build Meridian’s future asset management capability and transfer knowledge across the organization.

We’rebuilding Meridian’s next asset management capability. Ourgoal is simple: make decisions transparent, value-driven and portfoliowide. As EngineeringLead,you’llhelp design the system that guideshow Meridian invests in its assets for decades to come.

We'restarting by building the team first, then building the roadmaptogether. Part of our foundational squad,you'llhave genuineinfluence over both the journey and the outcome.

Working across our Engineering and Operations teams, you willchallenge existing approaches, translate complex technicalinformation, and apply leading industry practices to help buildMeridian’s future asset management capability.

Youdon'tneed to have all the answers. In fact, part of this role isfinding them. A big part of the job will be tapping into the knowledge,experience andexpertisethat already exists across Meridian andbringing people on the journey.

  • Comfort working through ambiguity and helping shape the path forward.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen and bring people along.
  • Significant engineering experience within an operational or asset-intensive environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple engineeringdisciplines.
  • Enthusiasm to work in a cross-functional team (learning lots of newskills along the way, including financial modelling and strategy).
  • Excellent communicationskills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading engagement and building alignment across teams.
  • Engineering qualification (all disciplines considered) or comparable experience.
