Job summary

Pure Oil New Zealand Ltd. – Rolleston, Canterbury, is seeking an Engineer to join our small engineering team at a large industrial processing site.

You will perform preventative maintenance, carry out maintenance work, and participate in capital projects involving new equipment, across equipment such as oil presses and grain handling systems. The role is 45–50 hours per week and requires trade certification with a current welding ticket; experience in production engineering is advantageous.

Pure Oil New Zealand Ltd – Rolleston, South Island

Pure Oil New Zealand Limited operates a large commercial oilseed crush plant located in the Izone Business Park, Rolleston, Canterbury. We manufacture quality New Zealand grown seed oils and protein meals for export and domestic markets. We sell these products into: food ingredient, retail supermarkets (The Good Oil), industrial oils and stock feed sector.

We are a vertically integrated business, managing the growing of crops with our supplier farmers, handling and processing of seed, through to marketing oils and protein meals. Vertical integration gives us control over the supply chain and allows us to guarantee the quality of our products to our customers. We are a customer focused business and have successfully launched numerous products and brands to the market over the past 10 years.

Pure Oil NZ is on a path of significant growth and requires an additional Engineer to help with expansion plans.

ROLE PROFILE

• Use preventative maintenance software system
• Carry out maintenance work
• Involvement in capital projects including new equipment
• Work across a variety of machinery including oil presses, grain handling equipment, fixed and mobile plant
• 45-50 hours per week
• Part of a small Engineering team

REQUIREMENTS

• Trade certification and a current welding ticket
• Good knowledge of sound engineering principles and repairs and maintenance procedures on a large industrial processing site
• Be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and within a tight knit team of engineering support
• Quality welding, fitting and fabrication skills and the ability to finish your work to a very high standard
• Previous experience in production engineering environments would be an advantage

The Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and will work alongside our Operations team.
