Community Connections is seeking a Disability Support Worker in Taupo to assist people with disabilities in their daily lives. You will help nurture life skills, build connections with family and community, and empower individuals to live the life they choose.

The role is permanent part-time (32 hours per fortnight) with shifts Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 6:30pm, no weekends or late nights. A supportive team and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in disability or mental health support.
• Understanding of behaviour support strategies.
• Understanding of Intellectual Disabilities.

Responsabilités

• Support independence and growth in daily living skills.
• Foster meaningful connections with whānau, hapori, and places of belonging.
• Walk alongside tangata whaikaha to build confidence and choice.
• Support participation in activities and community life.
• Apply person-centred approaches with consistency.
