APM WorkCare in Invercargill, NZ is seeking an Employment Consultant to join our team. You will work with jobseekers referred from the Ministry of Social Development, focusing on work-first pathways and meaningful employer connections across Southland.

The role involves helping clients gain financial independence, upskilling, and providing support in a collaborative team environment. Travel throughout Southland is part of the position.

Formación

• Experience in customer service, recruitment, sales or social services.
• Experience managing teams of people.
• Self-driven and entrepreneurial in approach.

Responsabilidades

• Meet clients referred from the Ministry of Social Development and focus on work-first employment pathways.
• Create meaningful connections with local employers, government and industry partners to seize opportunities for jobseekers.
• Understand jobseekers' stories and foster trust to help them gain mahi aligned with goals, experience and strengths.
• Help jobseekers upskill by identifying training needs and liaising with training providers for short courses.

What you'll do

• Meeting your clients that are referred from Ministry of Social Development and focusing on work first employment pathways leading to financial independence.
• Creating meaningful connections with local employers and businesses, government & industry/sector partners, disability support and other providers to seize golden work opportunities for our jobseekers.
• Getting to know your jobseekers, understanding their stories, and fostering trust so that you can effectively help them gain mahi. aligned with their goals, experience and strengths.
• Helping jobseekers upskill by identifying training needs for their chosen industry/sector and liaising with training providers to gain short course certification.

Your background

• Current full NZ driver's licence
• Our Employment Consultants are selected from a wide range of careers - including recruitment, social services, sales, business development, government and industry.
• Life skills, enthusiasm to help people, grit & resilience, and the ability to bring the best out of people are key attributes we look for.
• You will need to be self-driven, even entrepreneurial in your approach.
