Job summary

Transpower New Zealand Limited (TPNZ) invites applications for a graduate/first-role level position in its Pricing team, based in Wellington. You will learn how transmission pricing works, support analytical, administrative and coordination tasks, and contribute to high-quality charge calculations.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers, models, data or structured information.
• Clear verbal and written communication; ability to explain thinking simply and logically.
• Curiosity, initiative and the confidence to ask questions and follows through on tasks.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and what it means to work in a regulated business.
• Understanding of commercial principles and the electricity industry’s core business processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in calculating annual transmission charges to a high standard with minimal auditor changes.
• Provide high-quality analysis to explain the why behind the numbers, exploring anomalies.
• Contribute to the interpretation of regulated pricing obligations, risks, opportunities and incentives.
• Develop and operate commercial investment models for internal consumption that are easy to follow.
• Help foster understanding of what good looks like in a regulatory context within the business.
