Job summary

CoLegal Limited is seeking a lawyer with 1-3 years' PQE to specialise in employment law within a nationally recognised team in New Zealand. You’ll advise both employer and employee clients, drafting agreements and policies while developing your technical skills under experienced mentors.

The role offers hands-on responsibility, client management exposure, and long-term career development in a supportive and collaborative environment with a flexible, hybrid working arrangement.

Qualifications

• Have 1-3 years' PQE with exposure to employment law.
• Be admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Show excellent attention to detail and sound organisational abilities.
• Enjoy working directly with clients and building trusted relationships.
• Bring a collaborative approach and positive attitude to team environments.

Responsibilities

• Advise employer and employee clients on a broad range of employment and workplace relations matters.
• Draft employment agreements, workplace policies and settlement documentation.
• Assist with disciplinary processes, restructures, investigations and performance management matters.
• Support mediations, Employment Relations Authority matters and other dispute resolution processes.
• Build strong client relationships through practical, commercially focused advice.
