Wellington City Council is seeking a Readiness Advisor to strengthen our readiness capability across planning, training, exercising, operational preparedness and continuous improvement. You will support the Council's emergency response capability to ensure people, systems, facilities and processes are ready before, during, and after emergencies.

You will coordinate training, support EOC readiness, develop procedures, lead debriefs, analyse readiness information and provide practical advice while

Formación

• Experience developing and delivering emergency management, readiness, training or exercise programmes.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide clear, evidence-based advice.
• Experience developing operational procedures and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Experience working within emergency management, resilience, business continuity or related environments (highly desirable).
• Knowledge of CIMS and emergency response frameworks, or the ability to quickly build this capability.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinating emergency response training and exercise programmes.
• Supporting the readiness of the Council's Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).
• Developing and maintaining procedures, checklists and operational documentation.
• Leading debriefs, lessons management and continuous improvement activities.
• Analysing readiness information and providing practical advice and recommendations.
• Building strong relationships across the organisation and with regional emergency management partners.
• Supporting Public Information Management (PIM) readiness and activation preparedness.
