Job summary

Hato Hone St John in Queenstown is seeking a full-time Transport Specialist to provide safe and reliable patient transport for Te Whatu Ora Health NZ, private hospitals and other clients. The role covers planned and urgent transfers, including residential care and palliative cases, based in Queenstown.

The position operates on a 4 days on/4 days off pattern with day 09:00–21:00 and late 13:00–01:00 shifts, delivering essential support across health services.

Qualifications

• Full NZ Class 1 driver's license held 12+ months with a clean record.
• First Responder qualification; training provided if not currently held.
• Confident operating large vehicles and under lights and sirens when required.
• Good level of physical fitness.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, reliable patient transport for Te Whatu Ora Health NZ, private hospitals and other customers.
• Handle planned and urgent transfers including hospital and residential care or palliative care transports.
• Operate in 4 on/4 off shift pattern from Queenstown, with responsibilities across day and late shifts.
