Job summary
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Palmerston North Hospital is seeking dedicated Emergency Department nurses to join a permanent, rostered team. The Associate Charge Nurse assists the Charge Nurse in coordinating high-quality, safe, client and family / whānau focused care in line with nursing philosophy, professional standards, legislative and organisational standards, policy and procedure.

Qualifications
- Three years of recent clinical experience in emergency nursing.
- Postgraduate qualification in Trauma and Emergency Nursing or working towards.
- Evidence of proficient practice per CENNZ Knowledge and Skills Framework.
- PDRP portfolio evidence, working towards expert level.
- Triage certification and intermediate computer literacy.
Responsibilities
- Support the Charge Nurse in coordinating high‑quality, safe, family/whānau focused care.
- Lead a team, demonstrate effective delegation, negotiation and teaching.
- Contribute to policy, procedure, and professional standards adherence.
