Job summary

Vessev is seeking an Embedded Hardware Engineer to own the design of PCBs and embedded hardware for marine hydrofoiling vessels. You will work with controls, mechanical and software teams to translate requirements into reliable hardware, bring-up prototypes, and drive production readiness.

You will apply analog/digital design expertise, signal integrity and EMC/EMI knowledge, and cost-aware decision making to build innovative, robust hardware that powers our electric vessels.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical, electromechanical, or electronic engineering.
• 5+ years designing PCBs/embedded hardware from concept to production.
• Autonomous, able to own design decisions.
• Strong analog/digital circuit design and knowledge of CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet.
• Experience with signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI and relevant standards.
• Balance design decisions against cost, feasibility, and manufacturability.
• Contribute to design standards and design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, model and test PCBs and embedded hardware from concept through validated prototype, including bring-up and bench testing.
• Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC/EMI analysis and ensure compliance with marine and safety standards.
• Assess feasibility vs cost and make build vs buy recommendations to maximize in-house value.
• Establish and maintain design standards and documentation across the hardware team.
• Own the hardware specification process and align with controls, mechanical and software teams.
