Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Quality Control Inspector to join our client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role ensures products meet quality standards before reaching customers, inspecting raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products.

You will use calipers, micrometers and gauges to verify dimensions, document results, and collaborate with production and engineering to address issues. A minimum of 3 years' QC experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical qualification in quality control is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency in using measuring and testing tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Detail-oriented with excellent observational skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the company's products.
• Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and finished goods to ensure they meet specified quality standards.
• Conduct in-process quality checks at various stages of the production cycle.
• Utilize measuring instruments and testing equipment to verify product dimensions, performance, and adherence to specifications.
• Identify, document, and report non-conforming products or materials.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of inspection results, test data, and quality reports.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback on product and process enhancements.
• Ensure all quality control activities are performed in accordance with established procedures and standards.
• Visually inspect products for cosmetic defects and ensure packaging integrity.
• Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment as required.
