Job summary

Rakon in Auckland is seeking a Product Design Engineer to shape high‑performing frequency control products. You will drive end‑to‑end development from concept to prototyping, testing and continuous improvement, collaborating with engineering, production and partners.

The role requires a Bachelor in Electronic or Mechatronics, 3+ years in high‑volume design, strong analogue and digital circuit design skills, circuit modelling and APQP experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Mechatronics Engineering is required.
• Postgraduate study (Master’s/PhD/Postgrad Diploma) in Engineering or Science is an advantage.
• At least 3+ years’ experience in a design role within a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in circuit modelling and simulation tools.
• Experience in analogue and digital circuit design.
• Excellent communication skills and a methodical, solutions‑focused approach.
• Thermal or structural simulation knowledge would be an advantage.
• APQP engineering techniques.

Working closely with all aspects of the Engineering Teams, Project Management, Production, and key technology partners, you’ll contribute to the full product lifecycle and help shape future technology directions.
