Job summary

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is seeking a Procurement Manager for a 12-month fixed-term role in Auckland. You will lead strategic procurement for electronic components, build supplier relationships, and support commercial, quality, and delivery objectives in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

You will manage cost, availability, lifecycle, and supplier risk while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and ongoing supply requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement or category management in manufacturing/medical device or regulated environments.
• Experience with procuring electronic components and understanding suppliers and market dynamics.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, tendering, and supplier relationship skills.
• Experience with RFQ, RFI, and RFP processes and supplier capability assessment.
• Analytical, problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder-influencing abilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication with a collaborative style.
• Tertiary qualification in engineering, supply chain, procurement, commerce; CIPS/APICS advantageous.
• Global commercial awareness and international supplier experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement and category strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead sourcing activities, including RFx, supplier selection, and commercial negotiation.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships and negotiate commercial contracts.
• Procure electronic components and address cost, availability, obsolescence and lifecycle risks.
• Identify cost-reduction, value-improvement and supply assurance opportunities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations and Product Development for new product introduction and supply requirements.
• Assess supplier capability, performance, technical capacity and commercial risk.
• Provide clear procurement leadership and effective stakeholder communication.
