Job summary

Waikato Milking Systems is seeking a skilled Component Assembly Technician to join our Component Assembly team in Hamilton, New Zealand. You will assemble, test and inspect mechanical, pneumatic and electromechanical components to meet engineering specifications and production schedules.

You will work closely with a supportive production team to ensure products are built to the highest standard of accuracy, safety and reliability, while maintaining production records and supporting Lean/5S

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical, pneumatic and electromechanical components to specification.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and BOMs.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment safely and effectively.
  • Conduct functional testing and quality inspections.
  • Identify and report defects or non-conformances.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement and Lean/5S principles.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets.
