Job summary

McKay Tauranga is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our Bay of Plenty team. The role covers heavy industrial projects and streetlighting maintenance in Tauranga and across the BOP, with autonomy and the support of a national business behind you.

You will bring an EWRB registration and NZ practising licence, 3–5+ years in industrial or streetlighting settings, and a proactive, safety-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Must hold EWRB Electrical Registration and NZ Practising Licence.
• 3–5+ years' experience in industrial or streetlighting environments.
• Ability to work confidently unsupervised.
• Proactive, self-starting approach.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Commitment to health and safety.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Installation and commissioning of streetlighting systems.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting on pumps, motors, control systems and instrumentation.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with NZ standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients and the McKay Tauranga team.

McKay Tauranga are recruiting for an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our Bay of Plenty team. As an Electrician in our team, you will be involved with a range of Heavy industrial projects and streetlighting maintenance.

Based in Tauranga, you will work across a variety of key infrastructure projects throughout the BOP. One day you could be contributing to infrastructure developments, the next supporting essential streetlighting services that help keep local communities connected and safe.

What you will bring:
