Stellar Recruitment is recruiting multiple Electrical Trade Assistants for a major renewable energy project commencing in November 2026 in Taupo, Waikato. This is a fixed-term contract offering stable hours and exposure to a large-scale infrastructure project.

Ideal candidates will have electrical background, potentially hold a Limited Electrical Licence, and be eager to develop transferable skills while working alongside experienced Electricians and Supervisors.

Qualifications

• Previous Electrical Trade Assistant, construction, or infrastructure experience preferred
• Limited Electrical Licence highly regarded but not essential
• Strong interest in developing a career within the electrical industry
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced construction environment
• Reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Full Class 1 Driver Licence preferred
• Valid working rights in NZ (Citizen, Permanent Resident, Resident visa)
• Able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
• Able to pass a MOJ check
• Experience with cable pulling, cablle trays or assembly will be highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical construction activities including cable pulling, cable containment installation, and equipment assembly
• Provide support for terminations, testing, and materials handling
• Support general site operations under supervision of Electricians and Supervisors
• Contribute to a safe work environment by following health and safety practices
• Maintain project documentation and communicate effectively with team

Whether you're an experienced Electrical Trade Assistant, currently working towards registration, hold a Limited Electrical Licence, or simply have a strong electrical background and a willingness to learn, you'll gain exposure to a large‑scale infrastructure project while working alongside experienced Electricians and Supervisors.

You’ll be involved in a range of electrical construction activities including cable pulling, cable containment installation, equipment assembly, terminations support, testing assistance, materials handling, and general site operations.

With work secured through to April 2027, this project offers stable employment, consistent hours, and the opportunity to develop highly transferable skills within one of New Zealand's fastest‑growing industries.

About You
