Job summary

Aotea Electric Auckland is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager for our Contracts team to deliver high-quality commercial electrical projects from award to handover.

You will lead site teams, coordinate with clients and suppliers, and ensure safety and quality standards while building strong client relationships and driving successful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Proven project management, supervisory, or leadership experience.
  • Experience within electrical contracting and construction environments.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Sound commercial awareness and project coordination capability.

Responsibilities

  • Managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Reviewing plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Developing project programmes, milestones, and resource plans.
  • Procuring materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Monitoring budgets, costs, and project performance; preparing progress claims, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Managing project variations and contractual changes.
  • Coordinating labour, subcontractors, suppliers, and services.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Ensuring projects meet quality, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Supporting site teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

About the Role

As an Electrical Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the successful delivery of projects from award through to completion.

Working closely with clients, site teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal support staff, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the high standards that Aotea is known for.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a capable and proactive leader with strong electrical industry experience and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Current New Zealand Electrical Registration
  • Proven project management, supervisory, or leadership experience
  • Experience within electrical contracting and construction environments
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Sound commercial awareness and project coordination capability
  • A hands-on, solutions-focused approach
  • Commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards
  • Flexibility and willingness to do what's required to deliver successful projects
