Job summary

Ventia in Wellington is seeking an Electrical Fitter Apprentice to join our team. You will work toward a National Certificate in Electrical Supply while gaining practical, on‑the‑job experience and block courses.

You'll develop skills with electrical tools, support maintenance tasks, and learn to identify hazards while upholding Ventia's safety standards in NZ's electricity sector. A structured apprenticeship pathway awaits.

Qualifications

• NZ Full Class 1 Driver Licence.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Willingness to learn and complete apprenticeship training requirements.
• NCEA Level 1 in English, Mathematics and Science.
• Good communication skills and a awesome attitude.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Work towards achieving the National Certificate in Electrical Supply (Levels 2, 3 & 4) through Connexis.
• Participate in on-the-job training, block courses and assessments.
• Develop practical skills using electrical tools and equipment.
• Support experienced teams with maintenance and electrical fitting activities.
• Identify and report hazards, incidents and unsafe conditions.
