Job description

Babcock is looking for an Electrical Fitter to join the Marine Electrical team based in Devonport, Auckland.

Join a highly skilled electrical team supporting critical marine and defence operations. This role offers hands‑on work across installation, maintenance, and fault‑finding on complex electrical systems, from power distribution to propulsion and communication equipment. You will work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, contributing to essential operational readiness.

Compensation and benefits

  • $46 per hour (trade certificate essential)
  • OT rates paid at 1.5x for first 3 hours and 2x for anything beyond that

You are a trade‑qualified Electrical Fitter with full registration, confident working across marine, industrial, and defence environments. You thrive on varied installation, maintenance, and fault‑finding work, delivering safely to tight deadlines. You read drawings, use test equipment expertly, and communicate clearly with stakeholders. You collaborate, mentor others, and show initiative improving systems and processes. Adaptable and solutions‑focused, you take ownership, uphold quality standards, and prioritise health and safety in everything you do. Maintain accurate records and deliver clear technical reports.
