Job summary

Kraft Heinz NZ is seeking an EHS Coordinator to join our Hawkes Bay team. You will maintain HSE documentation, lead risk assessments, and support audits and incident investigations to ensure legal and company compliance.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) qualification and/or equivalent practical experience in a site-based role.
  • Experience maintaining HSE documentation and monthly reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory HSE requirements and how to apply them on site.
  • Experience leading or supporting risk assessments and risk registers.
  • Proven incident reporting and investigation experience with root-cause analysis.

  • Lead health and safety committee meetings and follow-up actions.

  • Support incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Manage contractor safety processes and site inductions.

Key position responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Maintain and update health, safety and environmental (HSE) documents, records and policies so they are accurate and easy to access.
  • Prepare and submit required monthly HSE reports.
  • Run health and safety committee meetings and follow up actions to completion.
  • Promote safe behaviours, including hazard identification and near-miss reporting.
  • Ensure the site meets legal, regulatory and company HSE requirements.
  • Maintain hazard and risk registers, and lead risk assessments to confirm controls are in place and working.
  • Track audit, inspection and compliance findings, and drive corrective actions through to verified close-out.
  • Support incident reporting and investigations, identify root causes, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Manage contractor safety processes, including inductions, approvals, review of safety plans, and monitoring on-site compliance.
  • Support environmental compliance, including monitoring programs, hazardous substance records, improvement initiatives, and progress against site HSE objectives.

About you:

  • Relevant Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) qualification and/or equivalent practical experience in a site-based role.
  • Experience maintaining HSE documentation, records, and monthly reporting (including using reporting systems/tools).
  • Strong working knowledge of legal and regulatory HSE compliance requirements and how to apply them on site.
  • Demonstrated capability running risk assessments, maintaining risk registers, and verifying controls are effective.
  • Experience leading or supporting audits/inspections, developing corrective action plans, and driving actions through to close-out.
  • Proven incident reporting and investigation experience, including root cause analysis and tracking preventive actions.
  • Contractor safety management experience (inductions, review of safety plans/method statements, and on-site compliance monitoring).
  • Working knowledge of environmental compliance and hazardous substance management (inventories, monitoring, and improvement initiatives).
  • Incident investigation, risk assessment and any environmental certification would be beneficial.
  • Eligibility to work in NZ with full working rights.
