Job summary

New Zealand Government invites a motivated professional to join our Hamilton office in a full-time, fixed-term role for 11 months. You will identify patterns affecting learning, wellbeing and behaviour while enhancing inclusive practices across schools and early learning services.

The role requires a Master’s level qualification and a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Psychology, plus registration under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act.

Qualifications

• Masters level qualification and a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Psychology or equivalent.
• Registered under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act with a current practicing certificate.
• Ability to translate specialist knowledge into practical information.
• Ability to coordinate service provision in a multi-agency, trans-disciplinary setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse learners, families and teachers.

Responsibilities

• Identify patterns or contributing factors influencing learning, wellbeing and behaviour.
• Enhance inclusive practices in early learning services, schools and other educational settings.
• Provide professional support and guidance to schools, teachers and families and build capacity of those who support learning.
• Provide in-depth specialist assessment and analysis for evidenced-informed interventions.
• Work as part of a trans-disciplinary team to support children with complex needs.
