Job summary

New Zealand Skills and Education Group in Waitakere, North Island, is seeking an experienced Education Coordinator to join our School of Education. You will coordinate learner placements across Early Childhood Education, Primary and Secondary settings and support learner success by building strong education-sector partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Teaching, ECE or related field is essential.
  • Current New Zealand Teacher Registration is required.
  • Experience in schools, ECE centres or tertiary education preferred.
  • Experience interviewing and assessing learner suitability.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative capability.
  • Proficiency with technology and student management systems.
  • A full clean New Zealand driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate learner placements across ECE, primary and secondary education settings.
  • Regularly visit placement sites to support learner success and strengthen partnerships.
  • Conduct interviews for domestic and international applicants.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to learners.
  • Provide relief lecturing cover when required.
  • Undertake student teacher observations in schools when needed.
  • Liaise with Associate Teachers and complete assessment reports.
  • Manage placement documentation and MOUs.
  • Support audit, compliance and reporting requirements.

This is a unique opportunity for a registered teacher who enjoys building relationships, supporting learners and working closely with primary and secondary schools and early childhood education (ECE) centres.

You will play a critical role in coordinating student placements, assessing learner readiness, maintaining strong education-sector partnerships and supporting learner success throughout their educational journey.

As our Education Coordinator, no two days are the same. You'll be connecting aspiring teachers with exciting placement opportunities across Early Childhood Education, Primary and Secondary settings, helping them gain the real-world experience they need to thrive.

Drawing on your teaching expertise and professional judgement, you will match learners with suitable placement opportunities while ensuring compliance, quality outcomes and positive stakeholder relationships.

From interviewing future teachers and supporting learners throughout their journey, to visiting placement sites and occasionally stepping into the classroom yourself, you'll be at the heart of creating outstanding learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate learner placements across ECE, primary and secondary education settings

You're a people person who enjoys connecting with learners, educators and industry partners. You're organised, adaptable and passionate about helping others succeed.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Teaching, Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Current New Zealand Teacher Registration
  • Experience working within schools, ECE centres, tertiary education or similar educational environments
  • Experience interviewing and assessing learner or applicant suitability
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative capability
  • Confidence using technology and student management systems
  • A full clean New Zealand driver's licence
